“White wine from old vines of the “Freixo de Espada à Cinta” terroir, in the hearth of the Douro Superior. Barrel fermented, medium bodied, minerality, elegance and fruit in a gourmet style.”

ORIGIN To create this wine we collect the white grapes in the old vines of Quinta dos Castelares estate, located at the Freixo de Espada a Cinta Douro Superior sub-region at an average altitude of 550 meters. Stony schist soils, typical Douro terraced vineyards, facing northeast.

WINEMAKING Hand harvest. Soft pressurage of the whole berry. Fermentation at 16ºC in french oak barrels with “Battonage”.

AGEING In stainless steel until the bottling.

TASTING Medium bodied and fruity, minerality, crispy and elegant, food wine with personality that shows well the old vines of the “Freixo de Espada à Cinta” terroir.

FOOD PAIRING Atlantic fish in the oven, cod fish dishes, white meats and soft buttery sheep cheeses.
